Help, New Car purchasing tips

Yes, its legit.

It's cheaper because list prices are horribly inflated and used to get plenty of money out of those who don't really seem to notice anything but the monthly figure.
Bear in mind though that they often quote including manufacturer offers.

As an example recently they were showing 6500 off list for a vRS, digging deeper though 3000 was a Skoda PCP 'deposit contribution'. So in reality it was only 3500 being offered by broadspeed versus what you'd get from a dealer and only applied if you bought via PCP.

Im a little less confident now as this scrappage stuff seems to be a hitch in it all, still im getting quotes in from other Mazda dealers from this carwow website and will take it from there.

There is no official 'scrappage' scheme and there hasn't been for almost 10 years. Anything branded as 'scrappage' now is just dealer marketing. You're not getting something for nothing, additional PX allowance is simply taken from otherwise available margin.

Yep, what matters is cost to change, not how the dealer is accounting for it.

Unless you've got outstanding finance on the current car, the trade in isn't as important as the cost to change figure.

It seems that using the 'scrappage' method isnt as good as it seems.

The normal route and using my car as a 1600 trade in (thats what Mercedes and BMW offered me), is bringing back prices of 240-260 per month based on the top spec GT Sport edition.

Quite excited now, coming in at under my initial budget for a 42 month plan!

Thanks again for everyones advice.

Ive managed to get a GT Sport model in the colour im after for £250 a month, using just my car as a deposit. Got free car mats as well and a tank of fuel.

Its circa my budget and its the model up from what I was initially after, so I cant complain... definitely better than the scrapage deal I was initially offered, and this is from the same dealer who bettered the carwow offerings.

Not that its a fancy car compared to some on here, but ill be happy to share photos once I get delivery :)

Glad you got it sorted to your satisfaction and we could offer some useful advice.

Will be picking this up next week. Is there anything i should look out for? I mean all the tyres etc should be brand new anyway?
Assuming it is brand new, then I always try to be at the dealers for the PDI. Take a good look at every panel, especially edges between panels and trim, you ideally want to see it before they've had chance to "tart it up", and before any delivery protection has been removed.

My S3 still has some of the delivery film between the rear seatbelts and the trim.
