I bought some Kingston HyperX 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 8500C5 1066MHz Dual Channel from OCUK. I set the timings at 5-5-5-15 and the voltage at 2.2

The system refuses to even boot. It just beeps.

I get a C1 error on the motherboard and the system resets.

I'm using a eVGA 780i board.

The memory seems to be OK if I boot it with not adjusting voltages or timings though.

So what's going on? :S :(

Run mem-test on each stick.

I had the same problem with some OCZ memory on my I7 setup, would run fine @ 1066 or 1200mhz, but soon as I went up to 1600mhz Windows would fail to load, run mem-test come up with a load of errors.
