help new rig keeps crashing in games?

It will with just 8gb,but the more ram the harder it is to run higher ram speeds on ivy, haswell is better

You won't lose any performance with a lower ram speed

Yh same voltages/settings but ram at 1800mhz,can try higher later if it boots ect

ok that seemed to of worked thanks for your help lets hope now I can game without crashing.:)

You need to test for stability now, plenty gaming,if it crashes to desktop then add one/two clicks more CPU offset so +0.020 or +0.025v ect

Download coretemp and CPU-z,keep cores below 80c or between 80-85c is acceptable, and CPU load voltage below 1.4v

You could try 2133mhz ram speed or 2000mhz upto you

nope still no good got into a game of bf3 first time cut out went to blue protect screen then tried again and the same thing happening battle field not working really annoyed now

You probably need more CPU offset,I can only guess at the settings as each chip will be different

Try to catch the bsod code too it will looklike this but with different numbers

0x0000000124 ect

Try with +0.025v CPU offset, keep eye on load temps and load cpu v also

ok I have cpuz anyway and I can keep an eye on my temps with ai suite 2

You will get it stable it just takes time

Edit: you can also look in windows event viewer to see what the cause of the crash was

When you click on the errors does it say what they are for? CPU,memory ect

Could try +0.040v offset then if at 1.135v ,you will have default CPU v,then the amount of offset gets applied and the llc setting applies some more voltage( its the llc amount Idk about, each llc will add a higher amount)

video memory is resources are over-utilized and there is thrashing happening as a result. reducing number of programs and open windows may help resolve this problem.

and if I bump the offset up by +0.040v would make it 1.75v right?

Could be memory related still,Idk if increasing vccio voltage or lowering ram speed might cure it

ok I have had enough for tonight im shattered this is giving me a headache now. I will try and up the cpu voltage in the morning up by +0.040 if no luck I will set all back to default setting and come back for advice about maybe getting a 4.5ghz overclock and sort the ram out then. thanks for your help anyway much appreciated.

Ok,I think its either CPU v or memory, its something simple

ok started my computer this morning went straight into a crash so booted into bios and turned the ram MHz down to 1600mhz had a few hours gaming all was good till I got a blank screen followed by the message. direct 3d device: present failed (device removed) dxgi_error_device_hung (-2005270523)

do you have a clue what this is? or anyone else for that matter?
much appreciate the help.

idk what that error is,can you stress the cpu in prime95 and look to see what the load cpu voltage is in cpu-z??

hi I did abit of my own research and the culprit was call of duty ghosts googled it ant 1000s of people having the same problem just a bad port that game. I will run some stress tests soon as I want 4.5ghz out the cpu heard that's the sweet spot for gaming and sli.

I just want to know where you are with load cpu voltage

for 4.4ghz you might need 1.2v to 1.3v depends on the chip
