Help on a Pre-Built system

The system you specced will run better- you'll always get better value building your own.

Instead of the X3 though, the X4 630 has an extra core and is only 0.3GHz slower (which a modest overclock will easily make up), so an extra £11 goes a fair way if you can stretch it.

That said, it's possible you can unlock the 4th core in the X3 with the right motherboard- it's actually a 4-core with one disabled.

Yeah i was going for the pre-built because of less hassle, but if the one i specced will run better then i'll get that, just means ill have my brother whining at me to sort it for him lol.

I think i'll stick with the X3 as the budget is pretty much at the limit, i think that will do him though, he's not into anything too processor heavy, just the games i listed and maybe something else in the future and if needed can always be upgraded a little when the time comes.

Thanks for your help :D

Just a check that the above is all that is needed to build a pc, except monitor/keyboard/mouse/speakers.

Will be ordering in a few hours so just making sure i don't miss anything.

Try putting it in your basket and ordering. Call OcUK support if you're concerned.

Quick fyi though, that PSU isn't enough for a 5850, if you're putting it in the same system.

Check if it has the extra power connector for graphics cards. If it does, a 5770 should be fine, but I wouldn't risk a 5850. If it doesn't, a 5670's your best option- or better, an improvement on the PSU and a graphics card.

Hey, I've built both system's but neither is working.

1 of them is POSTing (1 beep) but no display on the monitor

The other is powering up but not making any POST beeps or displaying on the monitor.

Any idea whats up with it?

Have tried removing Ram and trying each module, removing GPU, unplugging CD drive/HDD.
