Help on new build in London E1

I have switched between keyboard and mouse (2 usb2 black) and now the mouse seems to be recognized fine. Could someone explain why switching worked?

There are 2 separate usb controllers. usb2 black ports and usb3 blue ports. Windows by default will have standard drivers for usb2 however because usb3 ports are controlled by another controller windows might not have the drivers for it so it needs to be installed.
As @'Plec suggested check in device manager > Other Devices > Universal serial bus controller for any yellow warning symbols next to it, if you do have it, download below drivers and try installing them as they are originally for windows 7 but should work for windows 10

Alternatively you can do full windows update which might download missing updates and drivers.

Last time I checked there were no yellow warning symbols in device manager. Is it OK to leave it on usb2 since it works after the switching?

More importantly, when I installed the GPU the computer entered again the continual rebooting mode. BIOS not even loading I think.

I did not tried the blue usb plugs and now computer is not booting anymore.

What can I do for this issue?

Yea usb2 is fine.
Regarding GPU Did you connect pci-x power connectors ?

You can connect to one above it or perhaps try a different set of pci-e cable to rule out cable problems.
Also make sure graphic card is in properly or try different pci-e slot on your motherboard.
By the way do gpu fans spin at all when you try to power on your computer ?

Hi All,
After many attempts it seems the computer is working.

In summary I managed to update the GPU driver when rarely the computer was on for long enough. Then with still those abrupt reboots, I put the GPU in a different slot and use different pci-e cables. It is now a couple of hours it is working without rebooting. I will keep monitoring...

Something else I did was to change the mouse which kept colliding with the system...????

However, I am quite frustrated, because I don't really know what was the problem and even if the problem is solved. Why changing slots and/or cables could possibly solve the problem?

Many thanks anyway, I hope this works...

The computer still reboots randomly and I can't test the GPU on another computer. And I don't know what else to do besides trashing this GPU card which has cost me a fortune.

Does anyone know a good quality computer shop in London to have a look at it? Or someone willing to have a look at it?
Thanks,
EZ
