hi, my computer is running slow due to the amount of crap clogging it up, everything is on one disk at the moment, what I basically want to do is to have a HDD just for my OS and keep the crap on another one

what is the way in which I could do this, install the OS on a diff HDD or move all the crap over?

thanks

ok cheers, will it work as I expect ? as in quicken up the computer because there isn't 100 gb of documents on the same HDD as the OS. do I set it as a primary boot drive or have it do anything like that?

cheers

I doubt it'll make much difference. The 100GB of crap is (I assume) not all loaded at once and is just documents, pictures and videos. Having it sat on a hard drive doesn't slow the computer down unless it is being used all the time at the same time in which case moving it elsewhere will spread the load across two hard drives. But as I say, I don't think this is your problem.

A fresh OS install is likely the better bet. Buy yourself a USB hard drive. Back up all the stuff you want to save and then reformat and install the OS on your internal drive.

Partition current HD (if enough space available) then move the crap to new space/partition. Defrag OS partition & continue doing so on a regular basis ;)
