HELP Please: PS4 Not Outputting to Monitor via HDMI to VGA Converter

Ok, thanks for all the advice.

Ive purchased a Optical to analogue converter, and an optical cable.

Thanks all

Hi all,

Just received my PS4 and I want to put it to my PC monitor and speakers so I have a HDMI to VGA and audio converter.

However, the monitor wont detect any output from the PS4 and I have tried it on various monitors.

When I changed the HDD in the machine, originally a source was detected when I was in the PS4 safe mode, its only when the firmware has been installed that a problem has occurred.

The HDMI converter worked outputting from a laptop, so I can only assume this is a PS4 fault.

If anyone can help that would be great.

Thank you

Just a couple of ideas for bits you could buy, I just googled them so these are just examples:

Video:
HDMI to DVI cable for your PS4 to monitor - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Premium-HDMI-Cable-Gold-Metre-Black/dp/B000GDI6FC

Cables are pretty cheap these days so you dont need to spend a fortune.

Audio:
Optical to Analogue Convertor (optical out on the PS4 into the convertor and then analogue out of the convertor into your speakers) You will need an optical to optical cable and a phono RCA to phono RCA cable - or 3.5mm stereo jack depending on what connection your speakers have. - http://www.amazon.co.uk/LINDY-Digit...er-White/dp/B002AKXG5E/ref=pd_sxp_grid_pt_2_2

Lindy make good kit so this should do nicely or an alternative that you find.

Hope that helps.

EDIT: Just noticed you have bought a convertor and optical cable, let us know how you get on :)

Thanks

Does an Optical Audio to 3.5mm jack cable actually work?

This one

That's not a 3.5mm jack, it is toslink to mini optical or whatever it's called.
