I've been offered an rtx3060 for £150 which is a deal too good to be true by a friend of a friend that wants to meet tomorrow.

All I can imagine is that it's either a dud or stolen goods.

If it's a dud and he won't give/doesn't have the proof or purchase details etc do you still think Asus will repair it for a charge?

I have no bloody clue what to think about this apart from hmmmm I can taste the scam

Question: what kind of friends do u have. ?

It is a good deal as long as it's working.
Recipe or no recepie.

Warrant Might be tricky with out proof of purchase.

If u can arrange a testing and confirmation That it's working go for it.

U should Ask yourself , why they selling To u for 150 when they can sell on ebay for 600 or something.
They doing u a favour?

Depends if this friend is selling busted goods.
If one of my friends was selling it for that price i i would take it.
But your friend sounds dodgey and even you seem suspect about it

If u have it in your hands sniff it.
If u can smell burns, stay away , if its shorted And burned then can be damaged beyond repair Thus useless to a point.
I am extremely suspect about it.

My thinking is go meet them tomorrow, give the card a very good look over and go from there.

edit...info is used like new

If your not meeting at his house and he shows it works then its a real gamble.

Everyone can facetime so he could easily show you that it works, it doesnt mean h3 cant change it for something else.

Does he have the original box ?

There's red flags all over this.

If you think he could walk into an high street second hand place and sell it for £500 there must be a reason it’s so cheap.

This.

I can't fathom why a 'friend of a friend' would deal with the faff when he could just pop into a local high street chain and make several times the amount.
