Help Punching CAT5E

But then what would happen when I plugged premade cat5e cables to connect my devices into the rj45 sockets on the walls?

Would the wrong order of cables not mess things up?

think about it.....

The colour is there for a guide to ensure you connect the right strand at each end. If both ends were the same colours then you have a straight through cable regardless.

Ahh i've got you,

I will keep them the way you posted though as thats the standard configuration right?

Just a quick update for anyone that cares,

My house renovation is pretty much finished now,

Connected up two network keystone jacks tonight into a wall faceplate and tested them through to the switch in the loft with a cable tester. I have 8 lights on the tester so happy days.

Just need to get them in every other room connected up now then my full house is networked :D
