I have just put together this build:

P5B-E
E6300
Corsair XMS2

Upon first boot i cant get into bios setup by pressing del key then it goes on to a screen that says

NO IDE MASTER HDD detected
cmos settings wrong
overclocking failed
Go into SETUP.

and a whole load of other stuff detected ram and sata hdd etc and then it shuts down in 15 seconds.

But i cant get into setup as it doesnt work.

SATA HDD
IDE DVD-DLR/W

I have tried resetting cmos via manual instructions but was no different. I can get into bios ez flash utility by press alt+F2 though. anyone got any suggestions?

i have just updated bios aswell and it still doesnt work. before it goes to the above stuff it shows 0DD): NEC Dvd - (serial number)

press any key to continue and then it goes to stuff above.

Please help soon, i need this pc up and running soon.

have you checkced the connections on your hdd ?? unplug and reconect them and make sure you have power plugged in.

noticed there was different color sata ports on that board i think 4 red and 2 black, wonder if it makes a difernece wich color it in when you first install.

i take it its a neww hdd can you hear it spin up when you power on ?

i had this problem when setting mine up i found out it was the sata hard drive in the wrong slot on the mobo i thought it would go in the number 1 connection wich is red but then found out it was the first of the balck ones i dont know why or how this solved the probelm it just did lol.
