Help Samsung f4 drive failure need help. Thanks

Hi all i think i am having a samsung hd failure as windows 7 keeps bringing a pop up window saying there is a fault with the drive

I can see the drive access files from the drive but windows 7 keeps bringing this hard drive failure window up even when I boot up from cold. It's just started to happen.

It's a f4 2tb and it's only 6 weeks old.

i am trying to find the estool for samsung drives but i can not find it and i always seem to go to seagates website but there is no download for this tool

can anyone tell me where i can get it and what to do to test the drive

What do you think it is

try hdtune, it will let you do a diagnostic scan and also let you see all SMART parameters

Will that give me the rma number. I thought Samsung would still do there tool to test these hd

tested with hdd plugged into different sata port? cold boot errors usually point to ram

rma number is whats issued to you by samsung so you can return it for another one

Thanks I used the sea tools but the problem is I have 5 2tb drives that are all the same name but with a different serial number. How can I tell which drive to test out of them because I can not seem to find the drives serial number under the device manager to be able to select the right drive.

Also turned the computer on today and windows 7 has no error reports this is very strange as yesterday I tried to restart windows a few times and it kept given me the error. The only thing u did was put the computer back into standby and then turned it back on today and there is no error.

It's the first time it has happened yesterday but after a power off it seem to have stoped the error. It's running on a marvel controller that has hot swap enabled. But this is the only port I had left on the motherboard and used that and seemed to be ok for the last 6 weeks apart from that boot yesterday and Bly a power off and one seemed to stop it.

Do you think it's a faulty drive or just got abot confused when powered up and started this error ?

seems like cold boot error with memory not hdd,i have one of those drives and its fine,owned lots of samsung and no dead ones yet (touch wood)

serial number will be printed on the hdd itself

It's got an hour to go but I might just replace the sata cable to make sure. Do u mean the ram on the hdd ? As i have 5 drives in the case and it's strange to just pick on that drive if it was a computer memory error.

Maybe your sata cable move slightly and lost some contact with your drive it happens.

i mean the memory in your pc,sometimes it can suffer from cold boot ups,making things fail ect

could be simple cable issue as mentioned above,just keep your eye on it and see how it goes

Well it passed the 6 hour test mmmm. I replaced the cable just in case which I did after the test as I remembered That i had a spare sata cable from my other computer so I will see what happens.
