Help settling a dispute!

So my Mrs bought this, not sure what it's called so I will call it a meat smasher!
In my opinion it does nothing a wooden spoon can't do so it belongs in the same cupboard as the George Foreman grill, a useless kitchen relic you might say!

Mrs disagrees of course and uses to smash mince meat etc.

So.... Useless trash or handy kitchen tool?

Just agree with the wife

Its just easier

I will raise you my most useful kitchen tool that my wife refuses to use.
I've just cut a whole block of cheese into equally thick sliced parts for spreading on plates/bread etc while she cuts uneven slices with a knife.

Does that work well for chedder?

asking for a friend, definitely not me using an old C&A knife* like a barbarian.

*It's certainly from a homestore that went bust at least 30 years ago...

C&A.... there's a blast from the past. We use a 'normal' cheese slicer and i find it very easy, but the thing @RetiredGreyFox linked looks rather interesting since you can adjust it. Does the wire break easily?

I've had it about 3 years and it hasn't broken, still got 3 spare wires.
Sept 24 2024 I had it.
