HELP! svhost.exe using 100% cpu????

Im trying to help someone out here, he says he had a few virus's on his pc which he believes to have cured now but one of the svhost.exe processes is taking up all the cpu time, any ideas what it might be? cant find much usefull info on the net

Turn off Windows Updates. Sometimes that causes the problem. Download a program called Process Explorer, it well tell you exactly what is causing the problem. Run anti-virus in safe mode. Download Avest. Good free anti virus.

Is svhost.exe the correct name of the process ?
Or could it be svchost.exe or maybe scvhost.exe ?

svchost.exe seems to have been borked by a recent Windows Update (it jumps to 100% cpu usage whilst scanning for updates).

Does this on my XP Pro machine and Win2k server. I've turned off auto-updates for the time being.
