Help the aged - dod's log

- carbs: these are not necessarily the devil, but you would do better in my opinion to cut them down and swap them for more protein and fat...

To a certain degree I'd agree with you, but for the most part. I disagree. Get your carbs up high as you can go without being low on fats and your protein intake.

Low carbs will not help you lose weight more quickly. The latest fad diet among natty bodybuilders is high carbs when in pre contest dieting, and speaking to some guys last Sunday, the absolute lowest they were on during their diets, including peak weak was 350g of carbs, so go figure

I'd trust Steedie with diet advice, because:

a) He's massive;
b) He knows diet;
c) Payment is only required in pictures, so what's to lose?

thanks for the input guys. For the record I've went down the chicken salad route, avocado, no egg, added cashew nuts. I'll get an update of how that looks shortly but works a biatch at the moment :(

that is all

Make time bru, I get up earlier.

I'd agree, most of the time. :)

Particularly busy just now though. Got in this morning at 6.15 and just got home 20 minutes ago. That's pretty typical at the moment. The days when it's not like that are the days I head to the gym :)

Run an energy consultancy through the week and a sports photographer most weekends from march to Dec. :)

Changed things about a bit to try to speed up weight loss.

okay, tear me to bits :D An unplanned session, had an hour at badminton with a mate and just fancied it. All the bars were taken when I went in so the smith was the only option. At least it's not just a single plane of motion. This was the fourth set of 5X100.

I don't think my backside is low enough, is it?

I think you're lifting with your back, rather than pushing away the floor with your heels... But I don't really deadlift, so feel free to ignore. :)

Your bum comes up too fast, suggesting your glutes aren't driving the lift as they should.

Lock off your back, lumbar and abs, push through your heels and keep your shoulders back.

apologies for not replying previously :) Still at it but just as busy as ever :(

No vid but paid attention to what you said and noticing a difference. Trying to "sit into" the lift a bit more.

Today's cardio weights: chest and back

4X8X80 dead lift
4X8X65 bench press

decreasing sets:

20X22.5 incline DB
20X20
18X20

1X8

supersetted with
3X20X18 DB pull over
1X10 X18

weights aren't impressive but there's a lot of volume. My weights just under 12.5 stone but I'm eating a fair bit more, round about 2100 calories compared with the 1700/1800 I was eating. Interesting to see how the body responds, although it does my head in, so compex :(
