*sorry in advance for spelling*

Just moved into a house (renting so can't get cable etc) with some mates in manchester (theres 3 of us in total).

We where going to try and get on the universitys own ISP but are having trouble contacting them/thier site keeps crashing.

So does anyone know some good, cheap, and ideally unlimited/as close as you can get with fair useage policies in manc?

Post code m14 7pa

Much thanks :p

Oh noes :( Can anyone else smell the irony here? When our beloved resident PI, Tefal, gets shot in the face on Moss Side, who on OcUK will investigate the death?

That aside, Be* if you can get it or if not ADSL24 :)

Ok cheers guys, we're thinking of going for Be, what are they like on throtleing/capping?

Also with the telephone line, we can get a dial tone, but can't call anywhere (number not recognised).

So we have the line but it's not connected (right word?) to Bt, anyone know how long it takes to get connected?

According to BT if we have a dial tone it shouldnt cost anything (conection charge wise).

You gave out your postcode on the intertubes, after your online PI snooping? You're a brave man.

Btw I think it takes 3-5 days for BT to reconnect the line. You'll need to take out a 12-month contract and may have to paya deposit of £25-50.

is there any FUP on Be Unlimited? It's just that it says "Unlimited usage" on the Unlimited one and "24/7 unlimited usage" on the Pro?

If there's no FUP or throttling or anything on Unlimited, is there any reason I should go for Pro? Don't need high speed Upload or multiple staticIPs.

The only real reasons for pro is as you highlighted the higher upload and i believe it also has a dedicated support line. Definatly go for the £18pm package if you dont require the extras.

Im connected at 21mbit and im approx 1km from the exchange, definatly worth the money in my opinion.
