Help - Want to move back to android from iphone 4s

Thats interesting - I can't go back after this one so I should be happy eitherway? If so I'll pick a Nokia C1 or whatever they are ;)

The poor soul who wrote that article has obviously never encountered Mike trying to buy a mobile phone.

Hey, at least I don't look for every micro fault in it like Tom D does ;) To be fair to myself guys - I purchased the desire as HTC's flagship and didn't even question it!

Nexus - What sort of battery life and usage are you getting out of the One S now?

Some report the One S to have poor signal? That does concern me slightly :(

However, if I get CPW to pick this phone up and deliver me a replacement..... surely I am covered with DSR then?

The One S signal does seem to be a bit dodgy, to say the least. Though I believe HTC think they can help it with a software update. You've already been advised in the One S thread by Sarge and Richy to not get the One S if you're concerned about signal. Sarge (who knows what he's talking about) said it's a hardware thing.

The One X seems to perform better from a signal perspective.

As for the DSR, you should be covered but I'm not sure, as it's not technically a new purchase.

Still the same pretty much as what I have shown in the screenshots before, about 4-5 hours on screen time (with manual control and even auto brightness) throughout 1-2 days from a full charge, although my usage is pretty heavy and I would say heavier than the standard/normal usage so you would probably get better.

Some do and others don't. I haven't had any problems with the signal and I don't think the majority in the S thread here have either (apart from one or 2 guys). Apparently the latest update has fixed the signal issues though for quite a few people over on XDA.

Richy's problem seems very weird as the GS 2 was worse than the S

As long as you have good coverage, I don't think it will be a problem.

Did Sarge not say that it was a software problem, as the phone keeps connecting/disconnecting to different towers etc.?

TBF, there are people that say they have problems with the signal on both the X (cutting out every now and then etc.) and GS 3 (not as strong as the likes of the 4s and also cutting out) as well, just not as many complaints as there is with the S :p

EDIT:

Yup he did say it was a software problem:

I've seen no signal complaints about the GS3, at all. A few popped up recently about the One X, but my signal with it is excellent, roughly on par with the 4S and GS3.

The 4S does have a very strong signal though, since Apple specially redesigned the antenna after the problems with the iPhone 4. Having said that, it's nothing special.

Edit: Wasn't it Mike who said he found it [S3] a bit weak? I can't remember.

There have been a few posts recently in the GS 3 thread and one guy just recently posting about it i.e.

Yeah Mike was one of the people as well iirc.

So xxxxxxxxx annoying the way these forums slow right down as soon as it hits midnight  :(

Anyway, as much as I love to discuss phones, I am getting a bit bored of this now. We've probably written the same information at least 10 times.

Mike just needs to make his mind up, go with your heart (god that sounds lame :p), you won't be left disappointed either way.

Also yes, this forum sucks after 12. :(

This thread is like a broken record! :p :D

This! :)

Wasn't there a thread on this in the GD a while ago? Did the dons ever post an explanation as to why it happens? Seriously takes like 2 minutes to just reload every page :( :o

I assume it's because the hosting notches down a peg (or whatever) as there's not as much demand. It must be that.

My final say on the matter; get a HTC One S so you can keep Nexus company in the One S thread. He needs love! It's like a ghost town in there. :p

I've found the ocuk forums to be not too great for quite some time now late at night, god knows why!

I'm sorry guys to keep you both posting, but yep I'm hopeless at decisions! I really should go for the One S, I was set on the One S, until damn robbo reminded me of the GS3 screen which is ooooooooooh soo much nicer than anything I've used before.

Annoying if that is true!

It has only been an issue in the last 3 months or so.

haha :D

Be a hundred questions everyday, the thread will surpass the GS 3 and GS 2 threads! :p :D

The X thread is ending up the same now as well :p
