Yeah, I wasn't particularly aiming those advantages etc. for Mike's case, just in general. But IMHO that is how I look at it for both phones. You can't say the GS 3 is better for everything when it isn't really. They have their weaknesses and strengths over each other. I think the perfect way to sum it up is just simply, "a more complete package" than any phone
In terms of the amount of stuff there is, sense probably is more bloated regarding that, but when you compare the stock apps etc. e.g. the calendar apps, the touchwiz one is really bloated, far too much going on, where as with the sense one, it is nice and clean, functional and very informative but minimal at the same time if you know what I mean.
As I said before in a similar discussion with you I think?
If the design of the GS 3 had been much better and didn't feel as cheap IMO and it just had stock ICS on or touchwiz looked much better then yes I would have probably gone for the GS 3. If I had the chance to do a straight swap now for my S, would I? Probably not as:
- as stated many times, the design (regardless of the colour) and touchwiz.........
Yes the touchwiz part can be sorted out, but as I said before when asking you guys as to which mobile to get, I said that I really didn't want to root and tweak away at my next mobile as I was getting fed up with all the wee niggles etc. that came part of the flashing custom ROMs etc. like certain features not working, battery drain, wifi cutting out etc. so the software out of the box was a big factor for me and HTC is pretty good for updates so I wouldn't have to worry about updates too much and I absolutely love sense V4
- Storage is better on the GS 3 obviously, but
for me, it isn't really an issue as I still have like 4GB left and 1.62GB for apps and could easily free like 8GB up as the majority is just photos/videos etc. (over 800 now)
- the better 1080P recording is a plus, no denying that, but then the GS 3 is missing the slow motion video recording (had a look but there are no apps that have this and no custom ROMs either), which I use more often

and as said before I much prefer the camera UI and features of the one S so those advantages IMO out weigh the better 1080P recording as well as the S having much better stereo recording (are Samsung going to fix/improve this at all?)
- removable battery is a plus for me as well, however, I am not too bothered now as you are aware the battery on the S is more than good enough and I personally would never bother with carrying spares around, too much faff (maybe if I travelled more often etc. then this would be a big advantage and a main deciding factor), now the option of being able to use an extended battery is a big plus (as long as it didn't add much bulk), that is if one is even coming out......
- developing community, see above for software
- much better NLED, a small advantage for me, usually couldn't care less about a NLED, however, if it is going to be implemented then it should be done properly and done to a much better standard. HTC just need to tweak the NLED and how it works regarding how long it stays on etc. to improve it somewhat....
- much better GPU, not really a big plus point over the S as the adreno 225 is more than capable with games etc. considering the res. of the S screen etc. besides I am not a huge gamer, particularly of the ones, which would be demanding like GTA etc.
So as you can see an awful lot of stuff really does come down to personal preference
Ultimately it would come down to this
for me:
GS 3:
- screen
- battery (only an advantage if the extended battery does come out and adds very little bulk)
One S:
- software (including the camera stuff)
- design/feel
