Help! Where have I gone wrong? Motherboard/CPU replacement.

I’ve just replaced the CPU and motherboard in my son’s PC. Never done this before. Followed all the instructions really carefully. Pretty sure I reconnected every cable in the right place (took photos before just in case) It powers up (lights and fan work on motherboard) but that’s it. No signal to monitors. Doesn’t seem to connect to keyboard either (usually lights up)
Where do I even start with troubleshooting? I’m regretting starting now.

Does it have a separate graphics card or built into the motherboard? If a separate card, did you plug the monitor into it? What are the system specs? Can you take a photo of the motherboard in situ and upload it?

What motherboard and CPU did you get? the bios may need updating to support the new processor.

MSI pro H610M-E motherboard
Intel core i5 12400F processor
GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card (reinstalled in the new motherboard)
Reinstalled previous memory too
Monitor is plugged into graphics card

Upgraded from i5 6th gen

How do I update bios? Was I supposed to do this beforehand?

That CPU is supported from first bios.

Take the CPU out and check the CPU socket for bent pins.

Was the parts new or 2nd hand?

CPU seems to be supported from the first bios so they should work together

What does the EZ debug LED show?

Reset the CMOS (manual here, instructions below, use a screwdriver tip to CAREFULLY bridge the pins https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-H610M-E-DDR4/support#manual)
Try with only 1 stick of RAM in different slots.
Hard drives/SSDs are connected? (shouldn't make a difference but still..)

Resetting BIOS to default values
1. Power off the computer and unplug the power cord.
2. Use a jumper cap to short JBAT1 for about 5-10 seconds.
3. Remove the jumper cap from JBAT1.
4. Plug the power cord and Power on the computer

I would try a clear cmos.

Take the battery out of the motherboard, disconnect the power from the mains and then hold down the power button for 30 seconds.

Leave it all disconnected for 10/15 mins and then put the battery back in and give it another try

CPU socket I need you to check this pin

12th row up from the bottom and 9 pins in from the right in your picture, it looks slightly different to the rest .

LED is orange. RAM issue?

Try putting the stick back in, maybe wasn't seated properly or bit of dirt on connector. If it doesn't work then likely to be that stick.

Yeah it doesn’t like that stick.

New issue is that it isn’t detecting any boot device?

Mite not be the ram it mite be the pin affecting the channel , did you check to see if it was bent ?

Yeah hard drive is SATA. BIOS is picking it up.
