Could be UEFI Vs Legacy mode on boot drive config?Yeah hard drive is SATA. BIOS is picking it up.

I’ve checked again this morning. Does look like it might be bent. I can’t see very well though because it’s so tiny! Tried to get a better picture. Does this look bent to you?Mite not be the ram it mite be the pin affecting the channel , did you check to see if it was bent ?
Yes set to boot from hard drive firstBoot priority been checked?
Tried both sticks in one slot and it will boot to BIOS. The other slot won’t boot with either stick. So definitely seems to be an issue with that one slotre: RAM.
Try the working/non working sticks on their own in all slots, should show you if it’s a RAM or mobo/CPU pin issue.
went right through the BIOS settings and boot mode is UEFI or CSM. Is CSM legacy mode? If so should I try booting with that? That’s one thing I’ve not done yet.Could be UEFI Vs Legacy mode on boot drive config?
I think that's a bent pin. My advice to the OP is to contact the vendor, ask them what you can do. I wouldn't try to bend that pin back if you are new to PC builds, they are quite fragile and can snap off easily.CPU socket I need you to check this pin
12th row up from the bottom and 9 pins in from the right in your picture, it looks slightly different to the rest .
Yup, Compatibility Support Mode. You could try it - it depends how the previous motherboard was set up.went right through the BIOS settings and boot mode is UEFI or CSM. Is CSM legacy mode? If so should I try booting with that? That’s one thing I’ve not done yet.
Yes it's bent backwards if you look at the others both sides they sit into the recess above while that pin doesn't.I’ve checked again this morning. Does look like it might be bent. I can’t see very well though because it’s so tiny! Tried to get a better picture. Does this look bent to you?
If so is it fixable?
Start from the beginning: Motherboard and CPU and one RAM stick, on top of the motherboard box, no extra cables or drives beyond what's necessary.Update and a new issue!
When I got to trying to sort the bent pin it looked like part was missing so I cut my losses and got a new motherboard.
Now its stuck on the green light which is a boot error. Computer won’t boot at all, not even to bios. I’ve checked the cables are properly connected, tried different SATA ports, tried another cable. Still the same. I’m out of ideas so came back here to see if anyone had any ideas.
I’m in! I forgot about legacy mode. That’s all it needed.
Does it have a windows image on it? I'd expect you to be installing windows at this point so maybe booting from a USB stick?
The i5-12400F series doesn't have an integrated graphics adapter in - the F suffix denotes no graphics. So onboard/motherboard graphics ports won't work. Is there another free socket on the graphics card? You can get DisplayPort to HDMI cables or adapters as it's a passive conversion (just a different pin selection from the socket).Yeah it’s booted windows from the hard drive in legacy mode and we’re all set up now. Only issue is it’s not recognising the second monitor which is plugged to the hdmi port in the motherboard. So in the grand scale of things now it’s minor but just need to figure that one out.
Thanks! Just found out the same from google about the F suffix so going to get a new cable because there’s only one hdmi port in the graphics cardThe i5-12400F series doesn't have an integrated graphics adapter in - the F suffix denotes no graphics.
