Just wondered if anyone can give us some advice...

We have a 12 year old German Shephard who was diagnosed with Anal Glandulosus when he was just a pup, since then he has been on tablets on a regular basis to try and control it.
Over the past week, his back legs became very swolen and his backside is bleeding all the time due to him biting it. We have upped his tablets to 3 a day but he's just getting worse and now tonight he's collapsed on the floor and can't get up.
We have rang Vets Now which is a 24 hour service and they have said it will cost £500 in total for them to come out and another 24 hour vet has said that they don't do call outs on weekends!

Thing is, we just don't have £500 and there's no way of moving him to take him in to see the vet as he is a big dog and can be vicious too.

Is there any services which allow you to pay off your bill in installments or does anyone know of any cheaper out of hour services in the Tyne & Wear area??

Our dog needs help, and quick.

Thanks

Put it down?

Seriously. Be compassionate.

Well we're aware that putting him down is definately in the question now but we still don't have the cash to get him help tonight and its horrible seeing him like this and not being able to do anything. He is crying constantly coz he is very stressed out.

pay instalments? & get insurance :P

but agree on getting him put down

vets are a nightmare! Had an episode with a 24 hour vet once with one of my cats , he had taken a chunk off his back paw so we went to local vet for stitches and overnight stay and a cone , but the git still managed to undo a stitch so we had to go to a 24hr vet on a Saturday in total cost over £360 via the 2 vets but we got all of it back via petplan :) but its having that money to cough up in the 1st place sods tbh

£500 is absolutely ridiculous, I've called out the vet at 5am on a sunday morning and it was only £100 can you look in the yellow pages for other vets?

Yes I think its very steep too, they're only 10mins away too, we've tried another vet and they dont do call outs, can't seem to find any others.
