Help with 5850..

Quick update, the faulty 5870 & 5850 have been collected today for RMA hopefully they will find the faults I had, I have included details with each card of what I found to help with the testing.

The replacement 5850 is still a bit buzzy but not as bad as it was or maybee i'm just used to it now. The card runs perfect and even after hours of crysis both fans are spinning and the temps and fan noise are low..

I have now recieved a refund for the faulty 5870 & the 5850. Just awiting a refund of return postage costs and testing fee's..

I had 2 of these and both gave cap whine. I'm pretty sure this is a really common thing on these cards

With crossfire it is considerably loud! And the default fan speed of 55% is on every card I think

My reference 5850 made a mad cap noise for a while when new, even when scrolling web pages. Doesn't now even under load... I game with headphones so can't say when it stopped.

Looks like a bad run of luck there but not impossible, I've had 3 kits in a row of faulty RAM in the past

This one is Buzzing like mad according to MSi its normal but I have not heard anything like it before tbh. I can almost play tunes with it opening windows and sliding the bar up and down. Playing AVP last night all I can hear is the card buzzing away in the background, considering it says silent running on the box this is far from the truth.

Deffinately bad luck with the cards, At least now they have been found faulty and refunded just waiting on the refund for the return postages and testing fee hopefully they will sort this soon and I can decide what to do with this noisy one.
