i have an XFX 8800gts 320, came standard at 500mhz core, 1.6ghz mem and 1188mhz for shader clock speed, i have OC by bios flashing using NiBiTor to speeds of 600mhz for core and 1.9ghz for mem, but i have left my shaderclock as i have never OC this before, if anyone could give me some advice on how much i should overclock it or whether i should or not, i would appreciate it very much,

thank you

Use the new Rivatuner as you can adjust the shader clock. Just play with it and find the max clock yourself ;)

You can clock the shader manually now

I thought it was directly linked in with the speed of the memory/core...

/me goes and uses rivatuner instead of ati tool...

the new riva tuner works realy well got my shader clock on my gtx up to 1617 chuffed:)

thank you for your help.i will try rivatuner and let you know later about the outcome, sulli, at stock speed of 1188mhz for my shader clock how much do you think i could get out of it, from your experience anyway.

hard to say how much extra u will get. i managed an extra 200mhz or so:)
but your better of finding the limit of the shader clock first as this will give u the biggest performance boost then the core then memory. Hope this helps, happy clocking;) Test stability with the artifact scanner on ati tool and 3d mark 06.

hi thanks for the help, i overclocked it from 1188 to 1388 and is stable, with 600 core and 1.8ghz mem. very happy. i cant use ati tool cos vista 64 cant use the ati tool driver cos it isnt digital verified or something like that, thats the pain with vista 64 but can use 3d mark and got a boost in score.
