help with gaming setup

The BIOS update is ages ago,, out of the box should be fine, if not Gigabyte do a collect service and will sort.

You'll have to remove the links and write out the components and overall price..

By the way, since when did 3-way SLI come into it?

If your going 3-way you need the 5930k (for a X99 rig).. As the 5820k only has 28 PCI-E lanes you'll be running x8/x8/x8 instead of x16/x16/x8.. It'll make a difference for Tri-SLI.

Have you thought through the benefits of 3 cards, performance vs cost? After SLI (two way) returns start to diminish.

You are still picking massively expensive motherboards, way over what you will use.. The same goes for the SSDs and (let's be honest) mist the other components too.

Spending huge amount of money doesn't garentee you a great rig, Spending on components you will get the most out of garrentees a good rig.

I think i did a pretty good job with the black and green theme, at the end of the day, with the cooler and GPU's you'll hardly see the motherboard.

With this case, atleast the bottom (PSU shroud) will reflect you're colour scheme..

You'll be able to add a full WC loop and a third 980 if and when you wish too..

I don't see it being worth an extra £150+ for a 'better' coloured motherboard..

Are you sure he needs a 5830k for Tri-SLI? ;)

Ofc it's not just that I wanted to go all out if I was doing it so would be future proof for a while also :D

I'm not trying to be mean or offend I'm trying to help you do the best with your money.

With that in mind, What things do the expensive motherboards 'future proof' you for? (bar 4way SLI, as that is a hugely specialist area which may require additional cooling, not too mention diminishing results, I have actually seen games benchmarks worsen on 4-way SLI)..

Like I say, I'm trying to help you figure out these tough desicons..
