Help with internal cables?

So, can you people help me with what plugs in to what? I got my parts today and I just need some help finding what goes into what.
 
It's not particularly hard to find out what goes into what, the connectors fit the connection blocks and no two different ports have the same connector. What main parts do you have? The CPU cooler fan goes into the CPU fan header on the motherboard. The hard drives, disk drives and SSDs go into the SATA ports on the motherboard via SATA cables which should have come with your motherboard. There's plenty of online tutorials to show you what goes into what and how it fits in, it's quite easy - just like lego :D
 
I've done the CPU cooler, but the thing is, I have a builder series PSU, it seems different from others...
 
When you got the PSU, are all the cables already coming out of it or can you plug in which cables you want?
 
Ah okay that'll be non-modular. Basically the massive block (24 pin I believe) should go into the motherboard, the smaller 8 or 4 pin block also goes into the motherboard to power the CPU. The SATA connectors goes into your HDDs/SSDs/Optical Drives; just look up the power connectors on google imagez :D They just plug in fairly easily, you should just be able to tell what goes where.
 
Make sure you don't get the 8PIN PCI-E connector (for the graphics card) and the 8PIN EPS/CPU connector (for the top-left socket on the motherboard) mixed up. They should be labelled.

If not then the an 8PIN PCI-E cable will consist of a 6 pin block and a 2 pin block, whereas the other will be either one 8 pin block or two 4 pin blocks.

Other than that, the rest should be fairly easy to suss out. Most things only go in one way in one socket etc, just make sure you've plugged everything in, and perhaps post a couple of pictures here before the big turn on. :)
 
Could you list your parts you bought, as then people will be able to show you pictures of what goes where. If its getting confusing, take a step back for half an hour and relax. It really is childs play.

There should be an instruction manual that came with your motherboard.
In there it will have a diagram highlighting the location of all the ports on the board and what plugs in to them.

Edit: alternatively you can find the manual available for download on Gigabyte's website >HERE<
After looking at it myself, this diagram can be found on Page 4 and again on Page 11.
For information on connecting up the wires from your case's font panel you will need Page 14.

Just had a quick look on gigabytes site and assuming you look at the board with the memory slots at the bottom of the board and running left to right, the cpu 12v point is at the top right of the board, a four pin black connector, marked as ATX 12v (underneath the usb ports)

Or if you look at it the right way up (:confused:) its in the top left.
 
The CPU power cable will be either a 4 pin, a 4+4 pin or an 8 pin. If you have a 6 pin, that's a PCI-E connector for a graphics card.
