Help with my in car audio please.

Mutant = not good.

Theres a genesis miniblock on ebay (about 20 of them) from the Xine escort van. The miniblock is one of the best sub amps in the world and its only £110 on ebay. makes more sense really.

have you installed an alarm?
you have a very cheap car that will be easy to break into, might be worth considering that before you spend out on ICE ;]

300 Watt MOSFET Amplifier

^ Yep that means it has an amp! :p
What does class D mean? :)
It's the way the amp works, class D tends to use around half the power of a normal class AB amp, but it does have a few drawbacks also, but for sub use that doesn't really matter. I haven't a clue how well made the speaker and box is tho but I'm surprised to see Class D being used here as normally Class D amps are pretty pricey...

class d are usually much cheaper than A/B and more powerful, dont know where you get your information from, also mutant make #### car audio items and i would steer well clear

Fusion/Vibe/Mutant are all on the same level, don't like any of them, trying for the life of me to remember what i've got in the back of mine, don't want to go outside and check, too cold :p

Just got a Jackson x1500 5Ch amp for it though, gonna hook up my Rockford Power's to it next month, and then probably gonna get some rear speakers too :D

I got my information from the Halfrauds website, so stock the Mutant MTSPB12. It says: "Class D mono block amplifier" under the description. :p

I wouldn't buy anything with a name like Mutant tho, I'd go for a brand that been around a little longer...

no i mean your information that class d are more expensive than class A/B? i dont for a second believe you are wrong about the mutant being a class d, and to the person above fusion and vibe make some decent stuff

I'm certain the CD MP3 head unit in my old man's Accord is Mutant - it's not an extroverted style one though and LOOKS good but sounds like a pile of shift.

Attaching a sub with one of those and all you will get is bass bass bass like chav cars. Do you really want that?

Get a decent head unit and decent speakers then the sound will have plenty of bass as well as the mid and high end of the range being detailed without being muffled - you don't need a sub to get good bass either.

You pretty much get what you pay for with non decent brands.

Well seen as it was my CD player, and you new that I bought a Sub for it, why did you post on the forum asking? To bump up your post count? :D.
