help with overclock

hi all im looking to overclock my cpu

i7 2600k
mobo p8z68/gen3
power supply 750 watt
cooler corsair h70

im new to this do not have a clue what to do but want to oc for more power for gaming any help plz?

Firstly, you should have posted in Overclocking and Cooling subforum to start with.

Secondly, there is a handy guide on that sub forum here.

With Sandy, it is easy to overclock. I would just start by raising the Multiplier in the BIOS to x40, seeing how stable it is as detailed in the guide, then moving the Vcore voltage up if it isn't and moving on from there. Any issues you can post back and get some more help from here

hi thanks for your help atm i have adjusted to 40 in adjust by all cores the blck is set to 100.0 i dont no if this is correct?

well i have set multiplyer to 44 and cpu voltage/vcore to 1.350 is there any other settings i need to change and whats the best software to use to see if its all stable?

so then using prime 95 for half hour my results are

torture test completed 0 errors 0 warnings

real temp

maximum was 81

but i have asus ai suite and said warning 72 cpu centigrade is this normal?
