For new PC build, have got 2/ Samsung 500gb 850 evos 1/ WD Black 3TB HD and a 4TB external HD. Will be running Win 10. I do some (Steam Games) and also a fair bit of Photoshop. Just wondering what would be the best way to run/set up things. I am new to ssds. Thinking performance and long term reliability issues.
Any pointers appreciated

first thing I would do is make sure the sata ports are set to achi in the bios and when installing windows 10 make sure the only SSD connected is the one the OS is going on as this stops windows installing stuff on other drives.

How comes you got 2 x 850 500GB evos? did you plan on raiding them as a OS drive or something?

Once windows is installed and on the desktop you can then connect the other HDDs up

Cheers for that. With 2 ssds my thinking was OS and maybe some Steam Games on1 and Photoshop on the other. No previous use with these or win 10. Have read snippets of info, like don't defrag the ssds, so just wanting a heads up with setup. A bad experience with a Raptor raid setup has put me off going down that route again.
