Help with turning avi to dvd

Hi all

Was hoping someone could point me in the right direction here, How do i turn avi video into dvd format or at least something i can use on a dvd player? My dvd player says it'll play pretty much most things but apparently not what i put into it :confused:

I've only tried burning the dvd using windows media, i dont have nero (the original disc wouldn't work)

Will it play XVids or DivX? if your dvd player is flexible it just might play your Avi's.

Otherwise, ConvertXtoDvd or WinAvi should do the trick but they are not free.

I went with DVD Flick in the end. Works a treat so far and easy to use even for a total noob like me!
