Hi guys,
I'm in need of some advice for a long-awaited upgrade for my rig. I'm totally out of the loop hardware wise so any help would be much appreciated.
I'm looking to spend around £600, to include a new monitor (ideally 24").
At the moment I'm running a Phenom II X4 (which must be about 6 years old) which has done me proud but is really starting to show its age.
I upgraded my gfx with an R9 270X 2gb last year so I plan to keep that.
I upgraded my PSU at the time too, so I'm thinking all I need is a new CPU / motherboard / memory? Maybe an SSD too.
I was looking at one of the DEFCON 3s skylake bundles for £450ish, depending on cooler. Would that be a good way to go? Or are the AMD setups still good bang for buck?
I just use the machine for games and I play quite a bit of CS GO so I was looking at a 144Hz monitor. The AOC G2460FQ looks pretty good value?
Thanks very much in advance.
