Hi all

Was wondering if one of you kind chaps was able to help please?

I bought a Ocz Vertex 2 120gb SSD from a forum member just before christmas, iit worked great up until a couple of weeks ago when it diied.

It is still covered by warranty but despite his best efforts he hasnt been able to track down the receipt as yet so I cant return it,

Would anyone have a receipt or be willing to return on my behalf please?

Many thanks

Neil

Tbank you for your 'helpful' link, I am already aware of their policy hence my request and its hardly the crime of the century.

If a manafacturer makes a quality product that has a reasonable lifespan why shouldnt the warranty be transferable - in some countries the law upholds this.

Is my request any different to the sales area of the forum where people buying ask for a receipt for warranty purposes?

I sent a 60GB Vertex 2E back on the 3rd, couldn't find the receipt, so just sent it with a copy of the rma e-mail. Received a brand new drive back on the 9th ;)

I don't think a receipt is essential going by the information I received when sending back my dead Vertex 2:

Clearly write your RMA number on the package using a black marker. Any packages received without an RMA number clearly visible on the outside of the package will be rejected. Please include a copy of this RMA information sheet inside your package. Please include a copy of your original receipt if possible.

Yes, Just send it back anyway you would have only lost the cost of the postage (about £2.50 for small parcel to holland) OCZ can tell how old the drive is from the info on the drive anyway. I had one in solid use that died after 8 months and had no problem returning it.

im not being funny here but I also have a Vertex 2 bought second hand although it was still in its plastic wrapping (unopened) so hadnt been touched by the original purchaser, please let me know how you get on incase mine decides to die as I know these drives have that tendacy
