I have 2 seagate hard drives running in RAID 0, one of them hard developed a clunk as if its always writing/reading data (even when its not), long loading times (when not in RAID) and therefore I nolonger trust it. I'm going to buy 2 new seagate drives and RAID them (500GB 32mb cache). However, I also have a problem in that when browsing my 1TB Seagate drive, the computer will suddenly pause for no good reason. Internet exploror remains active, but Windows Explorer crashes. It returns about 30 secs later, while it is doing this however it has no problems in streaming a movie to my laptop through the wired network. It has only started spiradically pausing tonight so although I'll try a restart aswell as backing up my data (jic) I don't really know what to do. I bought the 1TB from OCUK, should I rma it, or wait?

To be honest if i was you i would get either samsung or WD drives as out of about 500 drives ive installed seagate has the highest failure rate.

The spiradic pausing on the 1TB drive seemed to go away after a restart and I've removed the SATAII jumpers from all three drives to see if it helps with anything. Now the drives show up as 3Gbps but there's not much difference speedwise. Also, one of the 500GB Seagates still sounds like it's constantly accessing data. Indexing is off and it's a fresh install of Windows XP, so I reckon it's a failing drive. Does anyone else have any other ideas?
