Hi All
I need some help please with a problem please?? OK What happening is I put a new hard drive into my PC with 1 GB off new ram there was already 3 GB ram in the PC! I installed Windows home XP and a program that converts my photos! Now when I tried to convert my photos all i keep getting was A Worker.exe box pop up and would convert the photos. I taken out the new GB ram and it converted the photos! Cool! Well almost! Then now when i tried to look at them in the browser i am getting a box saying DDPEditor.exe box!

Now is this a ram or hardware problem or is it a software problem??

Any idea please?? I look forward to hearing from you!

All the best
Brian

Could you list your spec: - MB, memroy, CPU, HDD etc so we can get a clearer picture of the problem.

Specifically could you give the details of all your memory - especially if your new memory is of a different spec/brand to the existing 3Gig.

If you're using all 4 slots it may be that you need to bump up the MCH voltage - but until we have more details - i'm afraid it's hard to advise.

In the interim you could run memtest on the new stick...

EDIT: Welcome to the forums.

Sorry, the details need to be bit more comprehensive.

Specifically, I need the brand and model of the:

  • motherboard
  • all the different memory types installed (including the new 4th stick)
  • PSU
  • gfx

The motherboard a Asus P5B The memory 3GB is the same type the 4 different the grx is a ATI radeon HD4600 serices The PSU it a capricorn case so not sure on the power to that?

Thanks for the added info but i'm afraid i still need to know the exact brand and type of the 2 different types of memory your trying to use together (this is the most important info.)

I need to know this so i can determine/advise you on - if it's 'possible' for them to run together. And if it is possible what settings you should be trying to use to try and get them stable and in sync.

This added info will allow me to find out the memories required voltages, speed and CAS setting - and how the 2 sets will ideally need to be set up in the BIOS to work together (if it's possible).
