so depends on how many games you have, plus what other stuff you will install plus your o/s updates, swap file / temp etc

Yes, you need one because 130gb is definitely not enough for the average PC gamer.
No, you don't need one because the computer can function without it.

More clearly; if you plan to store things besides a few games and Windows, YES you need one!

120GB would get me the OS and about 5 games. That's why I bought a 500gb SSD..
 
It would be fine if you don't want to install loads of games.

My Steam folder is about 36GB, and I have 3 full games installed. Windows 7 + essential stuff uses about 30GB, call it 40GB to be safe. 3 Games + OS = 76GB.

I reckon a 128GB SSD can comfortably hold 5 full game installs. For some people that would be an issue, for others, no problem.

I'd still have a normal HDD for backup purposes anyway.
