Ho all,

Bit of a strange one so i thought i would post to see if anyone has seen it before..

I am just rebuilding an old machine for a friend and i have it up and running but when i plug the power switch on to the motherboard and turn it on the pc starts up and shuts down again.

So if i leave the switch off and boot it from the power switch on the motherboard it boots fine.

i have the machine up and running with a fresh install on it so i know the mobo isnt faulty?

i have the switch on with the writing facing out the same as all of the rest? it's very odd.

has anyone had any experience with this?

its an asus P8z68-v Gen 3 mobo with an i7 in it...

Any advice you can offer would be great,

Thanks all.

Power switch of the case can well be faulty.
If you have multimeter you could check its operation.

Literally just gotta be this.

If it consistently works from the motherboard.

Take some WD40 to the mechanical end (button end) give it a good soak, WD40 is oil so won't short anything, although maybe get a tissue just to take up any excess so it doesn't go everywhere.
