Just looking for anyone that's used them. I read about the company on here and decided to use them when someone drove into my parked car. Just spoke to them on the 'phone and they appear to be managing my expectations in terms of the loan car I'm going to get.
It's apparently going to be a 'prestige car' but they have no idea what. 1 series ES knowing my luck.

What happened to like for like?

Mate currently driving an alfa spider while his 330 is being repaired. Only complaint is that they only had diesels available but was able to choose a car from quite a selection.

they're just a courtesy car provider used as the default by quite a lot of insurers
I had a car through them for a couple of months after mine was written off, mine was a POS though so the colt they gave me wasnt too bad a replacement

Didn't you kill the Colt in a blaze of glory? Fitting? :D

What do you currently drive?

Do you work for helphire and can tell him what he'll get? Just wondering what the relevance is here, or whether you're just about to dispense more of the gospel according to Fox.
Helphire were great when I used them, their idea for like for like in my experience was replacing a Z750 with a DL1000. Not what you'd expect, but more than a match for the use the Z was being put to.

The relevance here is that if he comes back and says 'I drive an Audi A4 3.0 TDI' I can reply with 'Dont worry, they wont give you a 1 series ES' whereas if he says 'I drive a 3 Series Compact' I'd be able to say 'You might well end up with that 1 Series'

On the relevence scale it was a few points further up than your wonderful contribution but such is the way :p

I'd have thought this is becuase less demand for replacement bikes (Due to there being more car accidents than bike accidents) means their fleet is a lot smaller so like for like can be a bit more difficult for them to achieve.

Well, according to the Fox Book of Psalms obviously ;)

Snotty little ballbag. ;)

Put a mate on to them when he got his focus destroyed by some un-insured tool. He got brand new mazda 3 2.0 in replacement for his 2 year old TDCi focus, fairly well spec'd as well. e was also offered a raft of other things.

Akira - grow up son. Put your keyboard away and go home if you can't play nice, fox was asking a pertinant question.

It's an A4 2.0TDI S-Line 170.

helphire were great in both instances that i have used them.

Like for like? :)

I was told when I dropped my car off at the garage a car would be waiting. I had to hunt around for an Audi garage myself too as they were gonna drop it into a 'helphire' approved garage.
Fingers crossed for next week.

That would validate my very existence. :) Not to perpetuate such an apparently contentious issue, but I can't see what car he drives as being pertinent to his request for experiences with helphire at all, especially considering a car hasn't even been assigned to him yet. In retrospect if they were wrong, yes I see it. Not right now though. As for my replacement, I was offered a VFR800 too, but when I queried the cost of the DL compared to the VFR, the reply was that they would supply either for the same price as they were both on their way. I took the V-strom.

It's pertinent becuase they offer like for like cover with cars - generally, if somebody drives into your S Class you'll get a similar car on your drive, but if somebody drives into your Golf, it'll be another Golf class car.

Knowing what car he has now allows us to predict what he'll get off them - it's a Saloon, so he won't be getting a 1 Series (Well, its unlikely). It'll be something very similar to his current car :)

As part of his requests for experiences he was expressing concern that he might get a bottom of the range 1 Series. Knowing what he currently has allowed me to reassure him he need not lose sleep ;)

I think you said what you did becuase you thought I had assumed he had an old Rover 200 and was poised ready to pounce with a cutting remark. However he's had that sig for years and he's long since departed from his Rover :p
