Helphire experiences

true

helphire are claiming £1400 off my insurance co for a couple of scratches on a bumper

it was a low speed impact, i just cracked a numberplate and replaced it for the grand total of £10.

The however, seemed to find the need for £700s worth of repair plus £700s worth of car hire. Quite how you can claim £700 for a scratch to a rear bumper i dont know. I mean a whole new one resprayed is under £500 inc. labour.

Needless to say my insurance co are still refusing to pay and havent settled yet. Rather them than me.
Insurance companies are to blame too,

The cheeky gits called me up saying that the other party has admitted liability, fair enough.
First off they said they can send someone round the next day to take the car to one of their "approved bodyshops" they will warrant the repair for three years, I told them to take a hike.
They then told me to take time out of my day to go to the BMW dealer and get a quote with their claim ref # at the top of it. After that, fax it to an 0870 number, they will then authorise the claim, after authorisation, I will then have to call enterprise car rental to arrange a car, for which I will be liable for 1k excess or something daft like that with the option of paying a waiver (heh you can shove that!) which happens to be non reclaimable (WTF?).
So, it means I have to drive in a busted car for however long it takes to get a quote and authorisation.

All I did here was call Europa, they organised the car and deal with the insurers, all I had to do was arrange insurance for the car as I need the car with specific insurance terms.

They will send someone to my office to look at the car and estimate the damage and deal with all the paperwork regarding sending the car to my local BMW dealer. All I need to do is carry on with whatever I do, why could the insurance company not make it easy for me?

When my A4 went in for some bodywork repairs a couple of weeks ago, I was given a X-Type Jag 2.2 diesel by Helphire;)
Had it just over a week before getting my car back.
Had to pay CDW of £40 for the term of the car, but small price to pay.

Seems alright :| Has a funky camera thing for reversing. Google suggests it packs more punch than the A4 but it doesn't feel like it.
Hope it aint in for too long.

helphire are quick to get you a car but not so quick to take it back i had a 307 for a week and a passat for 2 weeks just sat outside my house waiting to be collected. when it was windy a wheely bin blew onto the passat and dented it pretty bad, the collection guys didn't even inspect the car, i was very lucky. and when they took the passat they took it strait to someone elses house so they obivously could'nt be bothered to collect it until they needed it. makes business sense tbh
