HIERRY HENRY is STAYING with Arsenal.

The Gunners skipper will lead the club into a new era at the Emirates Stadium after deciding on a four-year deal.

Henry, 28, exclusively told SunSport last night: “I hope to stay for as long as I can keep running.

“I could not face leaving the fans. They are like my family.”

Arsenal’s battling display in Wednesday’s Champions League final defeat to Barcelona made up Henry’s mind.

could be BS though, it is the sun..

I dont think he could leave, honestly he is the heart and soul of arsenal and is an inspiration for ALL the young players.

Thats not to say we _need_ him but lets face it hes the worlds best player and were better of with him than without him :)

Its on a few more sites - henry has agreed in PRINCIPAL to 4 year contract - wont be on arsenal.com until tommorow or the day after i imagine.

Henry 'to sign new Arsenal deal'
Thierry Henry
Arsenal's record goalscorer has one year left on his contract.

Thierry Henry is set to end months of speculation over his future by signing a new contract at Arsenal, inspired by their Champions League final display.

Henry, whose contract runs out next year, had been linked with a move to Champions League winners Barcelona.

"I hope to stay as long as I can keep running. I couldn't leave the fans. They're like family," he told The Sun.

"I love Barcelona, but on Wednesday Arsenal showed they had heart. I hope to finalise details today."

I really hope this is true.
I could never bring myself to accept that he was actually going to leave, but when he delayed and delayed making his decision I began to worry.

I didn't know you were an Arsenal fan? I must be confusing you with someone else.

He has also been quoted as saying that "we will come back stronger next year" after the final.

After his cutting comments about barca I didnt think he would be able to join them.

Cant wait for confirmation of pen on paper though.

Worlds best player. There is no one on the planet that I would swap him for.

Just need a few more of his quality in the summer.

I know, even by normal players standards he was poor, but by his own standards he was awful. Was honestly expecting him to put in a stunning display, i've seen him do it so many times that i knind of do expect it from him now

Aye, tis good news if it is TRUE! Never trust the sun. They are such a carp newspaper. Once it has been confirmed I shall be very happy. I enjoy watching his skills plus he is such a joker before the games. :D

I have just woke up, enjoying my morning Coffee "Roma Nespresso+Marlboro Light in left hand" - I am still feeling disappointed by Wednesday nights showpiece--This is why I didnt have much energy to post yesterday--I feel obliged to agree with the saying that goes 'You only sing when you're winning', because I certainly hadn't felt much to sing about these past 36 hours+. Most of yesterday was spent clearing my inbox of heartless pictures courtesy of 'priceless/master card' and images of Ronaldhino and co - So thismorning's news comes as a warming thought, like a handshake from a good friend.
I have, being an optimistic gooner, always been quietly sure that Henry would stay with us. Considering his anger after the final, I couldn't see him going to barcelona or anywhere else for that matter - it wouldn't be right - some things in football suprise us all - but Henry staying at Arsenal will not be a surprise to me. If you have ever been to Highbury and felt the love at the club there is for this man, then you would understand one part of it, thats for sure, Henry is Arsenal, like Shearer was Newcastle and Gerrard Liverpool...Some players come along and you just know they were born to commit to one team - I feel this way about Thierry.
I await confirmation of his signature, but it's just a matter of time. Equally exiting, as I finish my cigarette, is the prospect of one Mr Walcott, lighting up the World Cup and then forming an astonishing partnership with Mr Henry next season at The Emirates....Now that is something to think about non? Ou la la.

On a seperate note, I do wish you could all have an opinion on who YOU think is the best player in the world and not just say Ronaldhino because his award proves it to be so - He may officially be the best player in the world for his play the year past but on recent performances - I have seen better from others.

Saw this on BBC. Great news :D

Didn't think he could leave after his words at the end of the final.

And yes, Henry is better than Ronaldinho
