I'll believe that when I see it. The last player who was World Class at the time of signing for Arsenal I can remember is Sol Campbell.

I'd love to see us get Gallas but the chances of Chelsea selling him to us are very slim, part exchange for Cole would be nice though.

While I'm not desperate for a striker, if we bought a genuine top drawer one to partner Henry I wouldn't be overly disappointed. What we don't need is another promising youngster as we already have Reyes/RvP/Walcott/Adebayor/Aliadiere as forwards. It will be interesting to see if RvP or Reyes gets an extended run in the team playing alongside Henry next season. It's been a couple of years now since he had a regular partner (Bergkamp).

And so he should, keep Pires and get rid of that spanish idiot Reyes, who imho isnt really that good a player tbh. But personally i think Pires should stay at Arsenal and not off somewhere else. Even though he has his critics, i still like the way he plays and i think Henry also likes the way he plays.

As i said get shot of Reyes and keep Pires.
 
I dont like reyes, also goes to ground easy, gives bad name to arsenal tbh. I think pires is still good midfield player, still scores goals, personally I would give him 2 year deal.

Hell no to andy johnson. Stay in championship where he belongs!
 
Best news ever for the premiership, he makes many a dull saturday afternoon better by entertaining the fans. An awesome player to watch, cant beat watching Arsenal on the break very fast, quality.

i'm sure it was the love of the club that persuaded him to stay,but £27m is not to be sniffed at either ;)
Not so clever if he starts having too much unasked for input over the squad tho,Pires was a great player,but he not been so for a while and at his age they'd be better off cashing in what they can get now imho

Just quoting the Evening Standard matey, although Johnson looks like he's off to Everton now. Personally I'd still like to see Defoe come to us although maybe Arsene is looking at other alternatives, I'm sure though that's said to Henry thats he's going to sign a couple of quality players. I agree in part with the Reyes comments but I just wonder if he'll come good, I just wish he'd stay on his feet :(
 
I'm not convinced those £50m bids were made in the immediate past anyway - I think they came in a while back. I know Chelsea are supposed to have offered around that mark a couple of years ago.

Word on the street in terms of recent bids is that Barca were only offering £10m
 
Just like to add that I'm very pleased Henry has come out and signed this contract in May, which means Wenger can concentrate on strengthening the squad over the summer, rather than worrying about Henry's future and fending off interest from other clubs :)
