We all know what Lollipop is by now and some of what it offers right from initial set up but how does it change the game from all previous Android versions and indeed all other ecosystem OSes on the market?

Ars have an excellent new review of everything in 5.0 and it really gives you an eye opening view on the magnitude of effort Google has gone through to ensure we as users get the best out of Android whatever device we have it running on from here on.

I hope Sony release the AOSP version of 5.0 the same time they release the customised version for the Z3 although I'd still settle for the custom one if it comes first I guess :p

Have it on my Nexus 10 and I must say it feels and looks smoother compared to Kitkat, it's a completely different experience. You can tell Google has put in a lot of effort to tidy up and refine the OS, I've now decided to stick with the N10 for a couple of more years thanks to it.

However the notification area doesn't feel exactly right for tablets. It's in the middle with the phone layout and size so it feels a bit off compared to the rest of the OS when you're using it in landscape mode. There are other areas which feel too "phone" as well, but it's nice to see the majority of it tablet friendly (KK removed a lot of tablet UI compared to JB).

I'm going to stick this on my N7 tonight, ran one of the dev previews briefly and liked it so looking forward to seeing what the finished product is like.
I'm also really impressed that LG are starting to roll it out on the G3 as well so I'll probably move my phone over to it once the first official releases start appearing.

I wouldn't recommend a Nexus 10... it's so old. Nexus 9 or Nvidia Shield Tablet (Lollipop confirmed on this on the 18th Nov) are the two choices atm for up to date tablets.

I'm a Windows Lumia fan, but my Nexus 7 has done nothing but impress me, Google seem to be trying to cut down on the Malware which was rife a few years back.

Loads of the apps, maps/chrome/play store etc etc, even the keyboard have been updated on my 1st gen Moto G and 2nd gen N7 LTE, they're teasing me with the Lollipop loveliness! I've always been a stock android lover, looking forward to full fat lollipop :)

Went to update my 7 with a flashable zip last night and got stopped before I'd even begun because you need to fastboot flash the new bootloader first and I was too lazy to go all the way down stairs and start messing with my laptop :o
