Here's to another one being released without charge, hopefully...

It's a shame someone had to lose their life over something so daft as a theft, but I think more and more people will start to push and stress for defending themselves in their homes.

I have no idea of the situation in this case or whether it was reasonable force or just one of those things that went too far... but eitherway, someone's life has been taken and the guy that did it has to live with the fact he killed someone.

Messy.

Just out of curiosity did the burglar bring the knife that killed him or was it owned by the homeowner?

Both are very different scenarios IMO.

Apparently it was his own knife that ended up buried in him. Good riddance.

TBH, I do hate to be stereotypical too often but just a look at the "mourners" outside this chaps house pictured on the Daily Mail's website. Not one bit surprised.

I like to think in this situation I would do the same but to be honest I would probably tell him where the main good stuff was while thinking about the lovely new ones from insurance payout. Might give him a hand ;) :p

Providing its reasonable force (and the burglar was carrying his own knife, so it probably is), I'm well behind the house owner. If you break into to someone's home, you pose them a threat and get what you deserve. I'd also be binning those flowers.

You know let people rob us without consequence, that's smart. Don't let us have the option of self defence, even smarter. Why not just leave our doors open? Crime would be down if there was a chance of death each time, even if it's just from the murder of the odd idiot so they can't re-offend.
