I have the CPU, heatsink and ram on the motherboard and the I/O plate in.

Im trying to get the Motherboard in and I have all the stand offs in, in the right holes but I can't get them all lined up and one of the holes on the mortherboard has a sticker half covering it. Im thinking it might be something with the I/O plate because there is like a spongey silver thing on the I/O plate on the inside of the case.

My case is a CM Storm Enforcer and my mobo is a Asus Maximus IV Gene-Z Z68

It doesn't look flush to me. Are you sure it's in properly. It may need a bit of manipulation. Some cases I have owned have made it more difficult than it should have been. The silver edge that lines the plate on the external side should pop through the whole in your case

Line board up with cut outs letting boardjust sit on stand offs then push board towards plate line one hole up fix with screw loosely then line others up

This is what ive hade to do with my board

It seems you have a dodgy I/O plate. Assuming you are correct in that the thing is seated correctly from the external point of view (which is hard to judge from photo). You could take the spongy bit off the back, with a stanley. It'll likely be sticky and a mess, but white spirit might clear that off. Give it a wash and dry and see if that gives you the mm. Failing that it's hunting around for an I/O plate that fits as it should. It may be possible to ease the board left and get your screws in, but I don't like putting any real pressure on the mb.

+1

Had the same prob. with my Sabretooth and did the same. It`s only the padding, so just push the board gently and put a screw in when the holes line up.

Have you tried pushing the board into the plate and seeeing if the holes do indeed line up. Looking at your last pic i can see that the board is not tight against the i/o plate.

It`s only padding, makes for a tighter fit. Does the plate come out easily, if so, it was`nt in properly. You still hav`nt said whether or not the holes line up when you push the board up tight.

This is what i done. Lay the tower on it`s side. Put your left foot againsts the back. Position your board so the sockets are in place. With your left hand push the board against the plate and with the right hand, put a screw(LOOSELY) in the top right corner. Do the same in the left hand corner. The rest of the holes should be lined up.

have started to get them lined up. Does it matter if I leave one of the stand offs with no screw in it. Because I really don't want to mess with that thing on the motherboard covering a hole.

Just cut round the hole with a blade, it won`t invalidate your warranty. What is that sticker?

Even with the I/O plate firmly in, i've almost always had to gently pull the mobo gently towards the I/O plate to line up the holes and get the screws threaded. Sounds like your on track now though :)

Where is this sticker and what hole is it covering? Providing you have screws securing each corner atleast, missing one wouldn't hurt. That sticker isnt there to stop you using the hole it's just been stuck down out of place most likely.

The sticker is in the top right corner of the second picture. But the difference is mine is covering the hole.

Just remove the sticker.

It's a sticker, it's not going to invalidate any warrenty, nor will removing it break your board in any way shape or form.
