I’m looking to buy a Hi Fi system after getting back into Vinyl. Would anyone be able to suggest a system that has a Turn Table and also CD Player, Speakers please.

probably pushing it a little bit

1) Turntable
2) Integrated amplifier
3) CD player
4) Speakers
5) Interconnects and speaker cable
6) Possibly phono stage, unless built into turntable or integrated amp

Best thing is look at usual places for second hand stuff, or increase your budget for new, and just look at one source.

For £600 I'd go for separates, you should be able to get a turntable, amp, and a decent set of bookshelf speakers such as the Wharfedale Diamond 10.1's etc for under £600.

I'd recommend popping into your local Richer Sounds and auditioning some speakers, if you give them a budget they should be able to put something together for you.

Edit/PS: For speaker wire don't let anyone con you, any half decent copper cable will be fine, you can get 5m worth of the stuff for less than £20.

just looking at approx prices (new)

£200 CD player
£170 turntable
£200 integrated amp
£200 speakers
£100 speaker stands
£50 for cable/RCA/bananas

I’ll pop in to RS. I’ll try eBay but I’m not sure what brands to go for.

I'd avoid a second hand TT...since very mechanical items you don't know if they've been abused

Tbh you can get some excellent deals on bookshelf speakers second hand, but it's worth popping in anyway to have a listen to some of the speakers and find something you like.

Wharfedale as mentioned is an easy go to, Monitor Audio and Mission also have some excellent offerings.

Quick example after scanning over the RS website:

- Audio-Technica LP60X turntable £119 (has a phono stage built in)
- Diamond 12.1 speakers £179, the 9.1's can be had for £119
- A decent entry level amp £150-200 (Cambridge Audio usually have some good entry level stuff)
- Cables/connects shouldn't cost more than £20-30
- Stands assuming you need them can be had for £20-30 (I purchased some Duronic SPS1022-60 for £20 a couple of years back for someone, they were spot on and he's been very happy with them)
- CD Player, £50-100, I'd probably go second hand for this, although I do agree with hornet about buying the turntable new.

The other bits and bobs you might need should be covered by the rest, I'd not personally bother with a CD player as I'd just load anything not on vinyl from a storage drive personally.

Need to demo them, Dali are quite bright sound from what other people say

Also need speaker stands, and RCA cable, speaker cable. 2.5mm3.

They'd probably be willing to swap them out if asked tbh, RS is usually spot on in that respect.

I'd go for the 12.1's personally, at £179 I'd be tempted to get them myself if I wasn't already running some Evo's and 10.1's (in different rooms).

Smart looking bit of kit too actually (the Omnia).

Was a bit of a billy bargain, sounds great - original retail price was over £1,500. He's got it hooked up to a pair of Monitor Audio 20SE's that he bought for £15 from a car boot sale of all places. :D
