Hi Fi System for around £600.

IMO, always worth trying used. I've always bought/upgraded used. Yes you don't get to trial but can be part of the fun seeing what matches. Pinkhifi forums is good.

Cambridge audio is kind of a budget brand.. In fact isn't it it owned by richer sounds these days? Or they have some kind of affiliation?

There's nothing wrong with it at all, it's decent stuff but it's not really any better than your Kenwoods, pioneers, etc.

So if buying second hand, I wouldn't put to much weight on the brand.

In fact I have a Kenwood a-97 amp I need to get rid of as it's a 'full size' integted amp and it doesn't fit with my requirements.. I'd let it go for £100 if you are local so postage costs won't matter.. It weighs a ton so posting it will be un economical.

Where are you based?

My advice. Don't build the system in one go, instead focus on one piece of gear at a time. Try and keep the quality up. This might mean you only have one source at first.

If your looking for a turntable on a budget I would recommend Rega Planar one, do not go less quality than this however.

There are loads and loads of second hand bargains especially if your happy buying older gear, just be aware some of it will need servicing.

The speakers are fantastic if you get on with them, the guy is flat out lying about the stands as I've bought the exact same models for £30 2-3 years ago.

I'd not call it a bargain at £400, maybe £250-300. Speakers are a pain to sell on due to shipping so people prefer collection, you could lowball the guy at £300-350 but I'd ask for a demo prior as he's proven to be dishonest. Couple that with the fact he doesn't have a single picture of the actual speakers he owns, guy is a nonsense merchant and should be avoided.

You can literally buy the stands for £39 currently on Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01D3LG038

I’ll send them an offer. I’ll keep looking for some bargains.

That’s good advice. It’s something I’ve started doing.
