High latency in WOW

I've been with Plusnet for years now, never really had any bother with ping.

If you do go with a new ISP, keep clear of Virgin, they're having the same problems apparently.

Jokester

plusnet are brilliant, but ym dad works for BT, so he got free BT Broardband, my plan is to constantly moan and moan untill he gets tired and gives me my plusnet back! woudlnt mind be i even paid for it!

plusnet customer for 4 years! untill recently!

damn homehub rubbish!

in relation to the threat, nah i dont have any problems, and thats with BT :o

Actually wrong. Its not zen at all its Telia ( yet again ). Zens technical manager has posted on the wow forums.

The problem seems to be how certain wow servers are being routed internally in the Telia network. Some servers are fine and other not for certain ISP's. Tracerts clearly show the problems are 2 or 3 hops into the telia network and not a problem in anyway with zen.

Exactly. When i was with Orange it was the Telia routers that were causing the problem.

Yes lets all boycott Blizzard games because unrelated companies have sucky networks!

Would just like to play devils advocate for a second and point out i've never had an issue with VM, and actually have a ruddy good ping (5 - 10 in CSS and 30 - 40 in WoW).

Telia are a huge network. They support far more than WoW servers and at the end of the day, people who play WoW mean pretty much nothing to Telia. Why would they? Also, Blizzard cannot force Telia to do anything. And even then, they can't exactly post things like "SOrry guys, Telia are a bunch of assbags, you'll have to suffer" on the forums because it's bad for business. Would be really bad if they put too much pressure on and Telia pulled the plug altogther eh? I'm sure they make a killing from Blizzard renting from them, but they were making a killing before that too.

How are Blizzard and Telia unrelated? They effectively sit in each others pocket.

Blizzard are more to blame than Telia. Telia just route traffic that bet suits everyone, unless Blizzard remove their middle finger from thier backside and complain 'as a customer' to Telia then nothing will get done.

Having the approach that your advocating is precisely why I gave up on that game. Like anything in life minorities don't count until they become the majority.

Also why have I never had an issue with any other mmos? Cos they dont use Telia!
