high pitched tone when trying to sleep

Sounds like you need to switch off your woman before sleeping.

Tinitus is the most likely explanation. I get it after wearing headphones for too long, even when listening at sensible levels.

ive had tinnitus since a young child so i dont really hear it anymore when trying to sleep. trained myself to ignore it. ambient noise is great as it drowns it out in the day i can see why some people get frustrated at it at night though. listening to loud music to drown it out will only make it worse to the guy who wrote that up there^^^ unless he was joking :p

You'd have though someone would have invented some in-ear noise cancelling headphones you could adjust to tune out you own particular frequency of tinnitus, specifically for help with sleeping. Incase someone hasn't already invented this, I hereby claim the patent on this idea by way of this post. See you on Dragons Den.

Its not an appliance as I have completly shut down the power in my room (IE nothing has power going to it) its not a radiator as my room is powered by an electrical heater (which I have shut down power too).

Its defenatly a health problem.

I dont notice it during the day as somone has mentioned, but it annoys the crap out of me when im trying to sleep :(

Better get used to it, or syringe my ears! lol.

I am a clubber so been to many clubs on occations but I havnt been since April, and tbh iv only just recently noticed it, weather its something thats only just developed in the last month or so ago as a result of the clubs.

I had the same issue a few years back when i stayed at home, the issue only came at night. However it turned out to be a cat alarm.

One of the neighbours across the street turned it on at night to stop cats crapping in his garden, during the day the dog stood guard.

Might be the reason...

Some of my electronics emit a high pitch noise that doesn't let me sleep so I switch everything off

This occasionally happens to me but only for short periods at a time. I've sometimes heard and felt my heartbeat in one of my ears though. It's very strange

Do other peoples ears click sometimes? Like when you click your fingers. The bones in my ears click and it drives me mental like ive just broken my ear lol. Only happens once every few months though.
