High powered lights?

I cant complain, because i have stupidly bright headlamps and get flashed reguarly, and have auto dimming on all mirrors so from behind i never notice anything.

The joy of the big merc :p

my mum has such things on her golf.

so plebs have such things as well =D

Never had any issues with my HIDS don't care about people behind cause my car has an auto dipping rear view mirror so its really a non issue.

For those iwth nice cars. hids are really really bright even when dipped. It's also hash due to the colour spectrum.

As I said I can understand full beams. But I don't see why dipped need to be so bright. Or levelled so high. oncoming is bright as well but as tehy go past you. It's only a brief anoyity. where if someone's following you. It's constant annoyance.

Annoys me, You can't see what's the other side of the car coming at you.

And a large amount of people wind their dipped beams up, WHY!?!? They are for driving towards, or behind people, not for seeing where you're going.

The 'teg has aftermark Philips 5000k HIDs fitted (the teg has projector-type lenses on the dipped beam before anyone starts about reflectors, see this pic) and they are awesome , it's not just that they are brighter, they cast a wider beam and just make driving at night a nicer experience. I hate driving the Estima at night now, it almost feels as if the headlights aren't working coming from the 'teg.

Seriously, once you've experienced them you won't want to go back to normal headlights.

As for dazzling people, I've never had anyone flash me or anything.

I love my HID's, although I have been flashed a few times they just get my full beam back (which is pretty damn bright :D).

Other cars with HID's don't bother me at all, so I'm not sure why people don't like them!

It annoys me that people flash me all the time, and my lights are well adjusted. It is not uncommon for people to put their full beam on when I overtake them, judging that I had been doing the same when I was behind them. It is a different coloured light and that is what confuses people, but they are much better on the road.

Nothing. but why do you need it on dipped?

Errr have you ever tried driving down a dual carriageway in the dead of night with occasional oncoming traffic on the other side? You dip headlights and without decent Xenons you can suddenly see... rather less than you really want to be able to see at 70mph in the pitch black.

I miss the good old days where the only buggers with xenons were the old bill and you could see them coming a mile away.

Happy times.

But when you have them its nice to see the effect it has on distant traffic as their indicators come on and they get the **** out of MY way :D

Given that Xenons were first introduced, like most new technology, on the Mercedes S Class and only really made it to things like Volvo S70's and V70's after they were common place on high end luxury cars, I doubt there was ever a time when only the police had Xenons.s

If they're not adjusted it does my head in as I wear glasses.. but from behind its not too bad because the Mini has an auto dimming RVM..
