Nah it's definitely better, your higher up and you don't get stuck in ques and so don't get cars following you. also you can also easily swing the mirrors away.
Even with pinlock, breath mask and a clean visor I'm riding half blind most of the time, you follow the red lights and hope for the best. No need to fold mirrors in, just use the warp speed controller.
