Rubbish. You do realise that Metacritic scores are a weighted average of many reviews don't you?
So you're saying that all of these reviewers, even those who have no financial interest or are renowned for being particularly critical or harsh, didn't have the balls to disagree with the consensus? ridiculous.
GTAIV did everything it promised. You're getting confused by general hype and your own excitement. It's your own problem if you got your little panties in a twist in anticipation and couldn't appreciate the game for what it is.
Fantastic story (Houser is a great video game writer), brilliant graphics, hilarious multiplayer with a good group of friends and immersive world. I logged over 300 hours on San Andreas (mostly multiplayer, over some years) so was a huge fan of it, but its totally different beast to GTAIV - and IV is better off for it. Looking forward to starting all over again with the PC version.
Did Saints Row 2 appeal to you more with it's childish approach?
