When being gay is considered to be comparable to a life threatening disease then I think it is shocking. I dont necessarily need a reason to experience an emotion.

Offense isn't an emotion. Every emotion has a reason.

It's a social tool. What is the value of 'offense' and why is it now popular to express it openly, without any seeming need for a valid reason for any offense, and why is the emphasis on actively showing that you are offended rather than doing something about your offense?
Why is offense seen as legitimate?

Paranoia :) I do not advocate murdering people to wipe them from the gene pool. I simply question where we draw the line. If there is a genetic treatment (a safe one) that ensures my children long life and good health then I want it for them. Why not? Or do you think we should never operate on a sick child and just let nature take its course everytime in all circumstances.
