Highs and Lows of 2008?

Good:

Got a 2.1 in my second year of uni
Started a placement for my third year, doing well in this
Moving into a new house with some friends
Inherited some money from my grandmother
Bought a new car
Paid off all my debts (other than student loan)
Won sunday league football league with my 11-aside team

Bad:

Grandma died (hence why I inherited the money)

Broke up with my girlfriend in April, been single ever since

All in all a pretty good year, just a shame that the two bad things that happened this year were big things. Looking forward to 2009, new year's resolution is to get a new gf.

Getting a new Job I love

Getting a girlfriend

Grandma died of cancer
Mum Getting Breast Cancer
Losing my old job which I loved

Highs

Expecting a little one a week this Friday

Learned a bit about myself, some of it good, some of it bad.
Progressed at work. Money is good.

Lows

Moving to NZ in the new year and will miss my family but don't really know how to express that to them. I try but it sounds empty sometimes

Highs:

Had a baby boy. (Well, the missus did)
Got a new job.
New house (Renting i might add)
Found a new fantastic hobbie which I want to make a career out of in Photography

Lows:

Honestly I can't think of anything bad.
Had a few arguments with the missus but that's it.

Goods;
Got a new car that is economical and is saving me a fortune
Got a new Mrs who im more than happy with
Went on my first holiday to the USA for 2 weeks
Started running my own business
Lost another stone of fat and started to bulk up

Bads;
Nan fallen seriously ill
Parents arguing a lot due to family stress
Still got debts to pay off
Stress of owning my own business
Not earning as much as id like too

Good:

Living in Korea and Poland
Travelling around Europe/ Asia
Meeting new people
Kicking some more illegal habits
Getting black belt in taekwando

Bad

Ex-gf dragging out drama for longer than needed
Job can be very stressful
Getting too close to 30

I think the good stuff outweighs the bad.

Generally I would agree with you. However, after 8 months of being single I think it is time I started taking steps towards getting one!

Not true

. I was desperately looking for a woman, then I started chatting to a mate of mine who was having a hard time with her fella. I was there as the supporting mate, then 2 months down the line she became my girlfriend lol

For the year though:

Good;
Got a job that I enjoy doing for the time being.
Got promoted in my job so I now manage the bar.
Learnt some great skills about the bar industry/drinks/cocktails etc.
Moved back to London with my mates.
Got myself a girlfriend.
Got my motorcycle licence, and got a bike.

Bad;
Financially screwed due to the time I was out of work when I moved to London.
Not being in the bloody British Army yet

Been a pretty good year on the whole. And even though I bold that last point, if I was in the army, wouldn't have been able to get myself this girlfriend I have now, although something else may have come along. Still hoping to get in sometime next year though heh.

This year has been pretty fantastic. I've had two sets of amazing housemates [/gay] and have met many new friends. The low point was missing out on a first class degree by a literal whisker *shakes fist at the moon*. I'm never going to stop being bitter about that.
